Robert was born on January 28, 1959, in Philadelphia, PA. one of five children born to Norman and Wilhelmina Richardson. Robert learned about and began to worship Jehovah as a young boy, attending and participating in congregation meetings and the field ministry. He met his bride-to-be, Shelia, in grade school. Robert was mechanically inclined and picked up various trade skills to support the family he and Shelia started with the birth of Robert Jr. On April 23, 1993, Robert and Shelia were married, and his work as a skilled painter allowed him to move his growing family to Pleasantville, New Jersey. There, he and Shelia raised their family, and with the help of his mother, the children learned about Jehovah just as he did. Along with raising his own children, Robert was instrumental in caring for his nieces and nephews, as well as providing assistance to extended family and friends.

Robert was the last of his living siblings and firmly believed he would see all of his family again by means of Jehovah’s promised resurrection. Robert had a profound impact on his coworkers throughout his career of over 30 years. During his retirement, he devoted time to his spiritual growth and his relationship with Jehovah God. He supported the baptism of his wife, Shelia, attended meetings, and maintained a progressive Bible study of his own. He progressed to become an unbaptized publisher, sharing Bible teachings and his faith with his neighbors. Robert often spoke of his deep respect for Jehovah and the truth within the Bible. He wanted to make Jehovah happy and, despite his imperfections, tried his best each day.

Robert is survived by his loving wife, Shelia Richardson; his two sons, Robert Richardson Jr. and Gregory Richardson; and his daughter, Shelia Richardson. He was Pop-Pop to five grandchildren.
